In 1913 the local millionaire Aga Mirza Naghiyev built it in honour of his dead son Ismail and then housed the Ismaillia Moslem Charitable society there. The architecture of the building imitated the Contarini Palace in Venice. Later the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences occupied this building. Behind it you can find the City Wall and the Djebakhana tower.
